I don't understand how, even if she had been abused, that he thought it was a good idea to unalive her husband. How about find her the resources to leave so you don't risk your life in prison? The only person I'm going to risk going to prison for is my child if someone ever hurts her. Anyone else? No.
Also getting involved with a married person is never going to end well for anyone. As soon as he found out she was married, he should have backed off.
