I see nothing wrote with tying funding to degrees or to student outcomes - to a point. Maybe a slightly lower than current baseline, and then incentives or increased funding to spotlight degrees.

But a "useless" degree is only useless if it isn't used. I have one of the most useless degrees out there - a BS in General Studies. I literally have no major OR minor. But I have a degree which was the point. My goal was ALWAYS a Master's degree, and the program I was working with did not require any specific Bachelor, just *a* bachelor degree. Additionally, my current job did not require any particular degree, just *a* degree.

So, while my degree is useless for many jobs, and it does not get me into any career field, it was *not* useless to me.

The same can be said for those gender studies and urban studies degrees he wants to eliminate or reduce. It is only useless if the person doesn't use it.

Education for education's sake. I am a believer, though I wasn't in 1977. However, those degree programs which only serve as "fronts" for Socialists, Anarchists, and Marxists / Leninists cannot be included.
However, I would not oppose decrees and departments of Socialism, Communism, and Anarchism. If this is what they are teaching use the correct name. The financial supporters, the parents, and the students of universities deserve to know what they are paying for. Truth in indoctrination, I always say.
