One of the major factors to Basic Training is to remove the differences between recruits and make them start thinking team effort. Why would you then go back and and start to enhance the differences? DEI for AD members is out of phase with the uniformity of the military mindset. When two out of phase wires carry electricity touch the result is violent and could very well be explosive and deadly. Personally I DGAF about a shutdown and I'm tired of hearing the threats.

GOP Senator Tuberville has been doing that already.

Reached for comment, Steven Stafford, a spokesperson for Tuberville, said McCaul’s remarks are “inaccurate.”

“No one can stop [Senate Majority Leader] Chuck Schumer from holding votes on these nominations. He just doesn’t want to,” Stafford said in a statement. “It’s also inaccurate because acting officials are in all of these roles. In some cases these acting officials are the nominees for permanent roles. No jobs are open or going undone right now.”

Some days, I have to believe the Biden administration wants to dow divisions so deeply that we'll never recover. That's exactly what CRT does.

DEI, to me, goes directly against military readiness. We've been a melting pot of citizens since Truman desegregation the services. We We equal and had a meritocracy. Now we have 'equity' which only means giving a leg up to those who don't have the talent (my opinion). Not everyone could belong before, now we'll take everyone with added accouterments, or with removed.

Standards were there for a reason. Now the standards have been lessened or removed. Bear in mind, all these folks pushing CRT and DEI won't be held accountable should we lose the next war.
