The thing I find very strange is navy ships monitoring seemed to have heard and identified the implosion on the day it happened. Why was this dragged out for 4 or 5 days.

It's hard to validate a rapid implosion. It doesn't duplicate itself, and there really aren't a lot of baseline sounds to match it against. The SOSUS network picks up the sounds, but that doesn't change the fact that we can't go that deep to verify the cause.
