Considered? Yes. We should consider all options.
Probably even enacted. Our Special forces have ballooned over the last generation. We have become too reliant on them for even relatively normal missions.
Scale them back, reserve them for their unique missions, and plus up the conventional forces for a conventional fight.

Absolutely. If one of the lessons learned in the Ukraine isn't that Special Forces aren't especially effective in a large scale conventional war, then we have a serious leadership problem.
The other lesson that should be obvious by now is that technology is only effective if the Army/Military can combine it with trained troops and leadership that can combine it into a coherent strategy. Listening to some/most of the Retired Generals, I'm convinced that hasn't happened yet.
My generation of soldiers and officers were the last that trained to fight a conventional war with a near peer opponent. What's the new term? Great Power Competition?
How about pull out of every second and third world toilet we are fighting in today and focus on real threats to the US.
Revolutions in Military Technology are generally only revolutionary for a couple of months.
