It's 2023...why are we still having people ban books? And most of the time these groups are trying to ban books at schools their kids don't even go to.
When I was a kid I went to the town library all the time especially in summer and I always went to the same area. I was three grades ahead in reading and spelling so I was reading above my grade level but I would read mysteries mostly. James Patterson, Mary Higgins Clark, Dean Koontz. Patricia Cornwell.
I think it's hilarious people want to ban LGBTQIA books but meanwhile when I was a kid we had access to VC Andrews books. Anyone ever read those or seen the movies based on them? You really think those are kid appropriate?
You'd think by this point we wouldn't be regressing.

Seems strange as no "straight " book a LGBTQ child has read has turned them straight but kids of far right christians and Republicans seem especially vulnerable if they read or hear the word gay or trans they instantly turn that way. Strange. Very strange.
