Maple Resolve is at Canadian Forces Base Wainright about 5 hours North of the US/Canada border in Alberta.
This exercise for 2023 starts in less than 2 weeks from now. I was not in play when I participated, but I was involved in 2018 as and OC/T and 2019 as a DCO of a USAR Regional Support Group helping to in-process American forces to the exercise.. We had a few hundred American AC/RC and AC/ RC USMC also participate.
The exercise trains the few hundred (up to 700 soldiers) being trained up for deployment in Latvia.
This is part of Canada's commitment to peace in the Baltics when the threat of war from Russia is there.
