My article was about travel...but if you want to argue about generational wealth...

There is a difference between education and knowledge. Many of these kids go out and get useless educations. Or maybe not useless, but VERY niche. They also have a sense of entitlement which has them refusing entry level work to demonstrate their skills and knowledge - or refusing to stick through any discomfort at work and build reputational equity.
What is the asset/debt ratio for 40 year old STEM degree holders? Lawyers? Doctors? MBAs? Hell, even education or social work degrees? Those folks can walk out of college and onto a job, and start earning immediately.
Additionally, the comparison to Boomers is not an apples-to-apples comparison because they were coming out of the depression when almost no one had any wealth to begin with. EVERYONE was starting from 0.
Finally, the single greatest asset Gen X and Boomers had was their home. Millennials are refusing home ownership at a staggering rate.
In the past, Millennials made decisions that are affecting their present. Today, rather than fix their mistakes, they are whining, which will ruin their future, too.

LTC Eugene Chu One of those times when two articles and a meme are complimentry. Boomers (leading edge of the wave here) eschewed instant gratification for long term wealth growth and security. A 7 x 7 ft tent and a zebco reel gives adventure on three continents - and a few islands - when young, and provides for a luxurious Class A diesel pusher to enjoy the beauty of the three North American countries when its time to tap into those investments.
