MY SAY: My AIT TAC officers warned young Jody: "The Army didn't issue you a spouse and kids." Meaning, you will be sent wherever the needs of the Army require. Without your family. Period. The 'modern family' needs to conform to the needs of the military, NOT the other way around. The whole point of the military is lethality on the battlefield. That's where every conversation needs to begin and end.
