It's a truly pitiable sight when one political party is so terrified of an opposing candidate that they will go through contortions of this nature just to prevent him or her from running. It may very well be indicative of just how far average Americans may have to go in saving the nation.

I would counter that it is a truly pitiable sight when any person thinks their political position grants them exemption from criminal proceedings.
