The government took a Sex and whiskey house in Nevada for taxes. They operated it until it was clear no one wanted to go to such a place when it has the government as manager.
Which goes to show, the Government owned business went bankrupt .
That's right,... the Government couldn't make a profit selling sex and booze.
And remember, Amtrack was also Government owned at one point and racked up a ton of debt...

Maj Joan Marine The Government Bureaucracy is morosely corpulent.
As well as " Staffers " for the elected officials, the staff of the Offices within the congress and Senate, duplicate and triplicate departments of each program the government runs, the Departments having to go through to get a permit for companies interested in drilling for oil and building Roadways etc., and those departments have barely any difference in the forms the companies have to fill out to get approved, those deciding on approval or no, having staff of their own...
If a person was to get rid of superfluous employees, we'd save hundreds of Billions a year. Former DC federally leased/ owned buildings and offices would be sold at a high profit in the Real Estate Markets . An economic boom would happen within DC , public and Private companies and citizens buying space and recently renovated buildings for living quarters , shoppes , artisan work-shoppes , even the business of clean up companies would see a healthy boost in profits consistently, then the remodelers/ architects, ... all creating a surplus in tax monies and the construction/ developers would see profit and steady work for a great while.

I find it's harder than ever to find competence in Medical Providers, I retired when the government stuck their noses into medicine telling everyone how to diagnose and treat based on administrative decisions not what is best for a patient.
