Organ donation and transplantation is about people. It is about people who have been fighting simply to stay alive. They need a hero to save their lives. It is about people who made the decision to say yes to donation and when they passed away; they saved and healed others. It is about people who decided to donate a kidney or a portion of their liver while they were still alive. It is about the most precious gift any of us have been given…Life.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL Amen. Brother Joe, you were lucky enough to receive the greatest gift of all, a new heart. The list for those in need of organ donations is huge with not enough people truly understanding what this gift can do for their fellow human beings. They don't cover this in school. However, they should. I have a signature on file that should I pass, they can harvest anything they want from me. Preferably the organ goes to another service member. My wife is totally against it and doesn't want me cut up. So, I posed the question, what if our son or one of our daughters needed a lifesaving organ donation?
