We also had this happen up here in edmonton. This theater was known for playing movies that had been out for a while and it was generally cheaper.

LTC Eugene Chu Currently living in a Kansas small town. We have a theater that is a regional chain. Small but has the basics plus reclining seats. I think if theaters went back to the basics, the cost of upkeep wouldn't look so dreadful. And just about every time we attend we get a free popcorn or drink with their promotional system. I think these larger theaters need to consider that moviegoers really just want that experience of the movie on a big screen and popcorn in hand. Sometimes other things don't matter.
