A number of the wind farms around had to be taken down , they device wore out after killing thousands of birds and not even able to produce enough electricity to be very valuable. Without wind they were useless and couldn't even store a charge that long. The damage to the environment and making land unusable for other purposes sure didn't help. The materials they were made of also were hazardous and couldn't be safely disposed of. It took a lot of oil to lubricate the mills so they could even rotate at all. Often is much as 45 gallons per mill on large one. At sea a hazard to ships and boats, navigation making barriers and dangerous obstacles as well land destroying natural views. There is very little that is positive about widespread use of these devices. Wind power isn't a new concept and on small scale ie Farms did help esp. in the days prior to electricity where the mills were all mechanical and had nothing to do with electric power.
