It's sad how our credibility has decreased thanks to our leadership joining the politicians...and this is why we are not supposed to do so!

Being an amateur historian, the United States military has had this problem before. Being a current member of the military, I am amazed and concerned watching the current rise of politicization.

*sigh* ... in just four years the perception of the military has changed a lot - from confidence in the institution to confidence in the leadership.

It's not all bad news ... well, it's not all bad news RELATIVELY. The military is still the most trusted institution ... But that's because the trust in every other institution took a hit as well (on a good note, it DID do a slight uptick from last year).

*sigh* ... on another note ... The media should REALLY be thinking about making changes. Historically, Congress is at the bottom of the chart, but this year media has tied with them (because people are less trusting of the media and actually more trusting of congress .. go figure!)

The top three reasons for the decrease in the confidence of the military:
...Performance and competence of presidents as the commanders-in-chief (34%)
...Military leadership becoming overly politicized (34%)
..."Woke" practices undermining military effectiveness (30%)

Can we just get back to the business of training our Servicemembers the best way to defend our country!?

What I see in this graph, people thought Democrats in the white house and controlling congress were going to be a good thing in Feb 2021. Then the puppet in the White House and a Socialist-controlled congress were seen for what they really are, and confidence dropped even more. However; because Democrats (dead, alive, or foreign national) vote for their own, the mid-term elections were close, surprised though the conservatives gained control of the House.
