We already have "thanks for participating" ribbons...let's not add to the silliness.

There were 9 service members at the last Winter Olympics. 19 at the last summer Olympics.
I don’t think we have to worry about ribbon racks getting too watered down with this one.

CSM Charles Hayden - It just illustrates the principle that there is no such thing as too many ribbons, medals, badges and gee gaws. No one would possibly look at these officers and laugh, or would they? I'll ask my friends.

Maj John Bell Anyone wearing Medals, ribbons and other appurtenances to their uniforms s/b able to identify them just as members of Congress s/b able to fill out their own tax returns!

CSM Charles Hayden - Yup splitting wood for the 2023/24 burning season today (when it isn't raining buckets).

Acting like any of us would awarded one though, or 99.99% of joes you know. Olympians not boots hyped up on caffeine, sugar, nicotine, a hangover and rage. Oh like we're just going to be handing this one out.

Remembering that achievements and such can be awarded for large accomplishments, I am a little surprised that commands don't give Olympian competitors medal commensurate with their victory (like Olympian=commendation, medaling=MSM or the like). Just saying it seems surprising.
