Did you know that the comedian/actor/producer/director Mel Brooks was at this battle???? And James Doohan, (aka: "Scotty" from Star Trek), was a participant in D-Day....and got hit...a few times, and one hit took off one of his fingers. I know James also took a body hit, and another hit in one of his thighs, and I think 2 more hits. And Gene Roddenberry, (creator of Star Trek), was a B-17 bomber pilot. And Adam Driver, (aka: Kylo Ren in Star Wars), is a Marine, (eg: there's no such thing as an "ex" Marine)... There are others, but these are the one's I can think of at the moment. But the list of celebrities who served in the U.S. military is a pretty big one...and there are names on said list that are almost sure to be a surprise to someone who's never heard of, or seen, the list before. Examples: comedians Don Rickles, and Buddy Hacket.
