Springfield, Daniel Defense, Fulton Armory, and now Glock, all AR-15 patterns for over $1000 when you can get a nice generic one for less than $700. Sad part is unknowing people will pay these prices.

MAJ Byron Oyler - Just like Gucci purses and Levi jeans, paying for the name not the product.

As for ARs -- yes, it is possible to make a bad "AR" but once you make a milspec AR there isn't really any way to make a significantly better milspec AR. Absolutely nothing wrong with Anderson, PSA, Delton, to justify the price of Daniel Defense or Wilson Combat.

I agree! I really don't care what name is in the piece as long as it's a good reliable piece. I stopped going to Gun Shows because of all the Snobs that would laugh at you if you didn't carry a Glock etc etc.

As a old school shooter, when the Glock first came out, no one in our police department early 80's, would dare buy, as said then, a plastic gun, nor a 9mm handgun for duty.
We all shot a S&W 38spl/357mag revolver, it took me a long time to buy a Glock and trust it. I think, I finally bought a Glock-17 in 2015 or 2017, and I liked it, one of my go to guns now a days, after some other guns, 1911, HK, SIG and most, a revolver. Just this morning hearing the dogs barking a 2am, I went out to check with a S&W 625 revolver.
My Glock has it's place with me now a days, it's very accurate, with the Wilson match barrel I put in it. I also have a G-19 Gen-5 MOS, but it seems a little small to me in my hands, it's just me, not the firearm. But I rather hold and feel my HK 509, a much better feel in my hands, and a good shooter.
One thing that I noticed at the range with my Glock-17, it shoots everything I feed it, not like some other firearm's. And, my Canik's too, shoot anything I feed it, some of my built or Mutherfied 1911's, will shoot lead heads.

SGT James Murphy - Nice bike James, and Happy Birthday. Colors are good looking. Looks like it had leather saddle bags at one time, is that the chrome bracket?
The rear fender looks like a Harley Deuce, a friend had.

SGT James Murphy - NO, I think the Trooper has more meat on it, and more heavy duty.
To me, an old trooper frame is something like a S&W N-frame, heavy duty.
That old Taurus M82 of mine, is like a S&W K-frame, but not as heavy duty as a S&W M-19.
