Wanted to share one more, today. Happened upon this last night.
For those with an interest, or who might be developing an interest, it is exciting research, about astrophysics event . . . all type of nova processes of a variety of types of stars, *including our own sun*. Although the Youtube channel and research is as much about geophysics.
Used to be, a few decades ago, that we only recognized supernovas. On closer scrutiny those waters have become muddied! These days it seems there are many types of novas, and conditions under which they occur in a variety of star types, that have been recognized and are now being researched.
I don't know the person's name who shares his work on this youtube channel, however he has been researching micronova for a very long time, and the hypotheses he has been proposing are increasingly being considered to have become groundbreaking research by folks in that field who have scrutinized his work and are doing investigating of their own.
Clearly some of his expertise is research about the activity of our own sun which he extensively observes, and compares with historic activity which reveals evident patterns.
Some folks in the field have been a little put-off by his focus on catastrophism in his research, however that does not mean his findings do not warrant warnings about cause and effect.
In geology, it is been proven and is very clear that earth processes change earth slowly, very slowly throughout deep time. As true is that catastrophic events also occur and add an unexpected "twist" to what is known and predictable about all the variables that contribute to earth processes . . . including the catastrophes. Although . . . "catastrophe" is relative . . . mostly indicating harm to life, and environments in which life thrives.
Not so sure any of the astrophysics events are actually considered "catastrophes" except when they harm life on our planet. As predictable as some are, clearly there is so much more to be learned about cause and effect, and predictability. More people are now researching new information that is connected to the research this person has been doing. He deserves to have his name mentioned . . . I have not found it.
