APOD: 2022 September 3 - Sun and Moon and ISS

The afternoon segment of today's Labor Day Weekend Astronomy PIcture of the Day (APOD) is the September 3rd "Sun and Moon and ISS." On August 25th, both the Sun and Moon were visible in the sky. At 11:02AM local time near Beijing, China, the International Space Station (ISS) transited the waning crescent Moon. Twenty-nine seconds later 40 kilometers to the southwest, the ISS transited the Sun. Two separate (but similar) cameras were used, and the Moon enlarged to be equivalent to the Sun.

Being able to pull off one transit photo is a feat unto itself. But two? Well done on both.
