Color, creed, gender, religion and national origins are barriers to progress in any Society, State or Nation; discrimination along the lines of race or color can be devastating, especially if the bias keeps professional sportsmen and sportswomen away from their lifelines in sports. Bill Spiller tore down the color barrier in golf and today, there are four African Americans on the PGA tour and nine African American golfers are members of the elite Augusta National in Georgia. We should celebrate Black History in pro Golf, Tennis and other sports.

SMSgt Lawrence McCarter, Jackie Robinson was the first African American to play major league baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. He broke color barriers and gave other African American the chance at fame.

Thankx for the great share, I recall conversations about allowing blacks to play at Augusta when blacks first started doing well on the PGA tour.
