I believe people need to take a look at the world, and evaluate what's happening in their own backyard. We have had rain recently, but this summer has been very dry in and of itself. By August / September, hay farmers are usually watching their 3rd cut of hay. This year has been slow, and the second cut just recently happened. The guy I buy hay from, is almost doubling his price for this year's first cut. Previously, the small bales are $5/bale. This year, my hay supplier is bumping it up to $8 to $9, depending on when it gets delivered or picked up.
