1. It was livestreamed and is considered a public performance.
2. Using copyrighted material often requires written permission and payment of royalties
3. Explicitly altering copyrighted material for a public performance without permission can still be considered infringement.

SPC David S. - Fair use does not apply in this case since it an unauthorized reproduction.

The Harvard fair use document talks about using or displaying portions of a copyrighted play or film for academic study such as a classroom setting. The church scandal of Hamilton involves a full performance without written permission and a public setting (livestream on Internet).
