It‘s official: The Marine Corps has its 1st Black 4-star general

On Monday the Senate officially confirmed Lt. Gen. Michael Langley as the nation’s first Black four-star Marine general.
Langley, who will now lead U.S. troops in Africa as the commander of U.S. Africa Command, was widely expected to land the confirmation following a hearing by the Senate Armed Services Committee in late July.

On Monday the Senate officially confirmed Lt. Gen. Michael Langley as the nation’s first Black four-star Marine general.

I never thought to see the day when the Marine Corps gave any color other than green! Since day one in boot camp the only color we could refer to another recruit/Marine with was green. Amphibious green. There is no black, brown, yellow, red or white in the Marine Corps.

Damn - 200 years to get things going in the right direction followed by 10 or 20 years of serious back sliding! We used to take on the nicknames with pride and now we need safe spaces?! We've gone from taking pride in all of our nom de guerres to now claiming all of our nom de espace sécurisés?!
