Khula is a legal divorce in Islam, where the wife petitions the husband for divorce and it is granted by a court of law. What is Khula ki Iddat and iddat period is a waiting period that is required of the wife before she can remarry. It is a period of 3 lunar months, during which the wife must remain in her husband's house. If the husband changes his mind during this period and wants to reconcile, he may do so. If not, then the divorce is final and the wife is free to remarry. Khula' is a divorce initiated by the wife in Islam. The divorce process is initiated when the wife delivers a verbal or written statement to her husband expressing her intention to end the marriage. Once the husband has been notified of his wife's intention to divorce, he must provide her with a response within a specific period of time. If the husband does not respond within this period, the divorce is considered final and the wife is free to remarry. During the iddah period, the wife must abstain from all Love activity, including love with her husband. She is also required to refrain from marrying any other man. The iddah period typically lasts for three menstrual cycles or four months and ten days, whichever is longer. Once the iddah period has ended, the wife is free to remarry.
