I totally agree! My Daughter is married to a Tulsa Police Officer, and he has trained my daughter to take care of her and her children! I fully support training and arming anyone! As others have stated relying on the local Government is equal to wishing for rain in the desert. Yes, it does rain in the desert but when it does it is a real downpour and overwhelms everything else! Too often even if you do get a restraining order, the ability of being protected by a piece of paper is about as good as wiping your Azz with the last square of toilet paper on the roll! ;-) I SALUTE All My Fellow Veterans!!! GOD Bless America!!!

The Liberal Dims would have you believe Protection orders solve all problems.
They are remiss because they don't supply the "Gun Free Zone" signage. (Sarmark)

MURDER SUICIDE: Young Boy Among Four People Dead - Houghton Lake Michigan
#crime #truecrime #breakingnews Donations Welcome :)https://ko-fi.com/truecrimeupdates Young Boy Among Four People Dead in Gruesome Suspected Michigan Murder...
Thank you my friend Lt Col Charlie Brown for posting the perspective from AOL.com
In general, I do not trust AOL.com so I looked for an alternate source. Many want to blame the judge in hindsight. This news brings to mind: mental health, suicidal tendencies, alienation, and protection needs.
Prayers for friends and family members of this family and wisdom for the police to come to the correct conclusion. Hopefully this will open the eyes of many to in Michigan and elsewhere. Justice is often lacking in this world and yet God is a just God and HE is the ONE who executes vengeance perfectly.
It was challenging to find a video that did not trash second-amendment supporters.

Caveat my first wife, filed a protective order against me - separation order when I was going through my first cardio catheterization at Inova Fairfax Medical Center in May 1995. After I was released from the hospital, a sheriff’s deputy escorted me to my former home for me to collect some clothes and my work briefcase, badges, etc. Over the next four year she initiated a divorce, remarried, divorced [fourth time]. I paid for her and our sons to stay in that home while I rented a room for the duration - by God's grace HE opened doors and shut them [3 separate locations]. My sons spent time with me on weekends, etc.
In December 1999, I remarried and moved back into the marital home after purchasing it from my ex-wife. The two youngest sons stayed with me and I encouraged the older son [who I had adopted] to travel with his mom to Florida so she would not be alone.

A lawyer explains why Tirany's order of protection might have been denied.
Jeffery Swartz, a WMU Cooley Law School professor, said Tirany’s order of protection was denied because “she never set forth that he ever tried to hurt her and he was living in the same house,” according to Up North Live.
Swartz explained that many judges believe that a person’s temper and emotions flare up in the midst of a divorce. “I think he did not see sufficient enough cause other than that she's afraid that she's going to get hurt when he kills himself,” he said.
Swartz said the wording in a protective order is vitally important, and those who file should seek assistance before doing so.
Tirany filed for a divorce from Bo.
Three days before the bodies were found, Tirany had filed for divorce from Bo. Kim Scott, the executive director of the organization River House, a nonprofit organization that helps domestic violence and sexual abuse survivors in Roscommon County, said cases like Tirany's have become more prevalent in the past six months.
"Intimate partner violence is a result of power and control issues," Scott said, according to Up North Live. "The way the power control dynamic works is the perpetrator is going to feel more of a loss of control whenever their victim leaves because they’re used to that dynamic. And so, they will push it to some of those extremes, threatening suicide, threatening homicide."
Scott said River House can assist survivors with the resources needed to navigate the court system and to develop a plan to leave.
Tirany's family has launched a memorial fund.
Tirany and Dayton’s family members have set up a memorial fund in honor of the mother and son, as well as Tirany’s mother. Thus far, they’ve raised more than $6,000 of their $10,000 goal.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the many friends and family who have been devastated by this loss," the sheriff’s office shared in a statement about the ongoing investigation. "Roscommon County contains wonderful, close-knit communities who rally around those who are struggling and in need. We encourage the people of this community to show their love and support to the many people who have been devastated by this horrific and senseless tragedy.”
Michigan Woman & Family Found Dead Weeks After She Was Denied a Protective Order
A Michigan woman and her family were found dead in their home, just weeks after she was denied an order of protection from her husband. Tirany Savage, a 35-year-old mother, filed for the order June 24 in Michigan’s 34th Circuit Court.
In it, she claimed that her husband, Bo Eugene Savage, had recently purchased a gun, threatened to harm himself, and refused to leave the family home. She believed he was a danger to herself and her son. Tirany also claimed Bo had mental health issues and indicated that his words to her were alarming.
Tirany feared her husband was a threat to her and her son.
“He has mental health issues and recently purchased a firearm and that is concerning to me. He keeps saying he is going to blow his brains out and I do not want my safety or my son’s safety in jeopardy,” the order read, Up North Live reported.
Judge Troy Daniel denied the order of protection three days after Tirany filed for it, citing insufficient evidence.
Police have yet to name a shooter.
On July 7, two weeks after she filed for the order of protection, Tirany; her 13-year-old son, Dayton Cowdrey; her 58-year-old mother, Kim Lynnette Ebright; and Bo, also 35, were all found dead from gunshot wounds.
Police have not yet identified the shooter, but they are investigating the crime as a murder-suicide, People reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
“There is still an extensive amount of investigation to be done in this case. It would not be prudent to comment on those issues until the investigation is complete and evidence has been processed,” Roscommon County Undersheriff Ben Lowe told M Live.
Two people, who have not been identified, found the bodies on Sunday morning. Police arrived at 3:30 a.m. and concluded that the shooter and the victims all lived in the residence where their bodies were found."
