On a muggy Virginia morning, a petite soldier with dark brown hair adjusts her cover tightly on her head. Fifty yards away, in a bed of thick, unkempt grass around a burned out helicopter, a mannequin drenched in blood lies in wait.

I could not imagine doing their job on a daily basis. Fortunately, we are not in a situation that requires that now, at least not daily. Respect for them.

When I was stationed at McClelland AFB, I was the base honor guard commander and we did a lot of practice...you don't want a misstep in an actual funeral detail.
