What part of, that has been a thing for many years, regardless of who is speaking. Venue owners set restrictions, not those renting the venue..But, hey, I'm guessing you know that yet posted anyway

Capt Gregory Prickett - It very well maybe, USSS disarmed military members when President Obama came to speak to us, and did the same for vice presidents and members of congress.
See it was ok to arm us with actual weapons of war, and send us to war, but we could not be trusted near political members whose live they were in charge of.
That said, no weapons in the main hall of the NRA nation convention is a common theme for many years.
