He gets paid more than the US president - highest paid federal employee, earning $417,608.
One of his main responsibilities - create game plan to prevent pandemics yet does gain of function research and causes a pandemic.
Goals for the NIAID Pandemic Preparedness Plan
1) Systematically characterize pathogens of concern and increase research and surveillance to identify threats before they emerge - what they actually did - altered pathogens and made them more deadly and possibly leaked the virous into the wild killing millions and tried to cover it up
2) Shorten timelines between pathogen emergence or outbreak onset and authorization/approval of candidate diagnostics and medical countermeasures, such as therapeutics and vaccines - what they actually did - allowed China to bully the WHO by creating and narrative it came from nature - denied access to lab that we are funding and tried to cover it up
3) Bridge or eliminate existing gaps in research, infrastructure, and technology and expand pre-clinical and clinical testing capacity - what they actually did - funded dangerous gain of function research in a foreign lab with no oversight and tried to cover it up

SPC David S. I read that the U.S. had a lengthy good plan to deal with the possibility of pandemics - what the preparedness plan states (and we know it was put into place, effectively too a few times with Ebola in Africa) but that plan was tossed, in the previous administration - what was done, instead. Do we know if it has been reinstated . . .
