I bought our house new in the fall of 2016 for $200k. It is appraised now at $387k. That is a 52% increase in 6 years.
The article does not tell the whole story. It shows an increase for Rapid City as 34% over the past 2 years. That is true, but there has also been a great boost in building of new homes. The problem is the costs of these new homes has also skyrocketed.
We have an upcoming strength increase at Ellsworth, which adds to the boost in home prices.
