Strykers in Alaska May Get Scrapped for Parts, Army Secretary Says

As Army planners move quickly to convert the service's formations in Alaska to the 11th Airborne Division this summer, the fate of roughly 320 Strykers in the region is uncertain. But they could end up being used for spare parts for other units across the force.
"We are looking at potentially taking the Strykers out of Alaska and, if we do that, we will take them and look at the ones we can reuse elsewhere, or use for parts," Army Secretary Christine Wormuth told lawmakers during a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing Tuesday.

Back in 2014 in Afghanistan, when they were pandering about a complete pull out, the plan for all those vehicles was to line them up blow them up and sell it for scrap metal.

Gonna replace 320 Strikers with 13 Cold Weather All-Terrain Vehicles. Sounds like a lot of humping in cold weather boys and girls. My nephew had told me about how bad the Strykers performed in the dead of winter when he was stationed there. I thought he said at one point they could not shut them off, but its been 13 years or so an my memory is not what it once was.
