The disinformation surrounding the language in the law is astounding. Once z Disney starts paying all of the taxes that they have been exempt from, the billion dollars will even itself out. Liberals tend to be anti-corporation in principal. Do we remember the Occupy Wall Street/ WTO protest? The message has to be sent that Floridians will decide how their kids will be educated, not Disney. Schools need to teach science, math, and language. Leave morality and values to the parents.

SGT (Join to see) - You believe Disney won’t be charged for water, sewer, and taxed for the cost of the infrastructure? Only thing in our city government that makes money is the water system

LTC David Brown Right now the counties and 2 cities within the special district cannot provide the water power or other infrastructure needed. They simply fo not have the revenue support staff or the ability to provide Disney its infrastructure needs. Disney pays 3x the tax revenue to the special district to fund its needs. Without the special district all they have to pay is the minimum.
Now this is a special governing district and by law cannot be dissolved until all debt and obligations are paid off. Its the law. Its in the bond documents.
I've been involved in local politics for 30 years and have delt with these special districts and their bond obligations. This man has created one hell if a mess and the local governments involved can go to court and say the state created the district then dissolved it and we have zero responsibility in this matter so uts the states responsibility to provide infrastructure needs and meet the dissolved districts bond obligations.
