I have a different perspective, I think VP Pence knew all along this wasn't a planned insurrection and that getting in the car and being whisked away would add unnecessary drama to an unfortunate event. To describe it as "chilling" again underscores the fact that Democrats are whipping this up into something it was not and trying to milk it for all the political mileage they can get out of it.......while also repeatedly blocking investigations into the lack of accountability with the key Democrats responsible for Capitol Security oversight that day which by anyone's measure was a failure of EPIC porportions. I can't wait when historians write their far more objective point of view of this whole circus. I am confident that like the DC National Guard, they too will refer to it as a protest that went out of control vs a "insurrection" or "coup". Complete political spin on an event that was preventable with a little more security outside the Capitol Building.
