Most everyone who hears this rolls their eyes but....at one time (circa 1980) the Fairfax Hooters on Route 50 was one the few restaurants, when smoking was still allowed, with a decent air handling system. You could actually walk out without smelling like cigarette smoke. Our vets group met there and, can you believe, none of the wives actually believed that was the reason. Believe it or not, it really was.
