I had been interested in this type of headset for a while. I finally got some and am amazed with the result. Plugging the ear canal has always bothered me. It causes my earwax to flow like molasses and reduces the ability to hear ambient sounds. This blurb on Wiki mentions problems at higher frequencies, I'm not noticing it with this new head set. I've hearing loss at higher frequencies for years, and I think that bypassing the canal and going straight to the skull has improved my ability to hear some things. I recommend them. Remember I'm not an Audiologist or Dr. and it's just my opinion.

They have one and a device that retails for around 6K. No go for tinnitus caused by Meniere's disease. I've spoken with the mfgr connected to VA study at NCRAR. Policies and technology (price) change with time. https://www.research.va.gov/research_in_action/Progressive-Tinnitus-Management.cfm
