I fnd this horrible. There are a lot of adult males who underwent sex change surgery who feel they made a horrible mistake. Why would people want to do this to minor children? There is a reason children can’t sign contracts, drive cars, etc. I am beginning to think America has lost its mind.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - question is how do you know exactly who is going to feel the surgery benefited them and who are going to feel they were mutilated? There are hundreds upon hundreds who feel mutilated. Unlike joining the Army this is permanent. Unlike joining the army, if you read the article, Biden is purposing allowing irreversible surgery on minors.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - LOL If you join the military and don’t think you can go into harms way you are pretty stupid. You are also an adult. Now consider a 12 to 13 year old making a decision about getting genital surgery. And it specifically states on a case by case basis for minors.

LTC David Brown - Hundreds upon hundreds? Cite your source. You have one source that interviewed three people - and it's from 2009. And those instances happened long before anyone was even really openly transgender.
Why do people like you ignore the thousands of trans people who tell you that they have never been happier than after they transitioned? Not everyone gets gender reassignment surgery either. Every trans person has a different experience with how they transition and when.
Currently no kids are getting reassignment surgery before 18. Not that I've seen any reports of.

If this decision is to be made, it should not be parents that make it. This is an adult decision for an adult alone. Kids can go through a phase and end up back where they began.
