Record profits may mean record spending. How much is the oil company spending to make the profit? About a year ago oil companies lost 16.7 billion. Mom worked at Fina then Valero corporate accounting/billing 20 plus years. Mostly doing taxes at a state and federal level. She opined profits mostly go towards upkeep and exploration.
