New food insecurity stipend should help as many troops as possible, lawmakers argue

Sounds like another half baked, poorly thought out welfare program pushed by the welfare party. If the troops are not paid on par with their civilian counterparts, pay them commensurately. This is yet another vehicle to entice troops to stay in without raising their pension eligible pay, thus shorting them at retirement. Pretty slick accounting.
