The Indian government is scaling up evacuation efforts in war-torn Ukraine. Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the Indian air force to assist in Operation Ganga. The Indian Air Force is set to deploy C-17 globemaster aircraft to help with evacuation of Indians. This comes after Russian troops closed in on Ukraine's capital Kyiv. Till now, over 1800 Indians have been brought back home on 9 special Air India flights from neighbouring countries in Ukraine. Stranded Indians including students are required to travel to the borders from their location in Ukraine to catch the evacuation flights. Watch this video for more details.
