They are anti-freedom and anything that binds people that isn't Central Government.

Brent Bozell: Why There’s Hope for America’s Future, Despite Woke Wave

Media Research Center President Brent Bozell told EpochTV’s “Crossroads” program in an interview that while the far-left has been attacking the nation on a cultural, constitutional, and spiritual front, the attacks haven’t been well received and hope remains in sight for the future of the United States.
Bozell described the United States as being in a “cultural” existential crisis, whereby various leftist movements “attempt to dissolve the United States of America.”
For example, the critical race theory (CRT) movement seeks to “teach a new generation of Americans that America is a bad nation” based on “racism,” thereby teaching youth to reject the Constitution, Bozell told Crossroads host Joshua Philipp.
“It attempts to teach a new generation of Americans that America is a bad nation, that America is based on racism. So what’s the solution? The solution is [The] 1619 Project,” Bozell said.
Spearheaded by Nikole Hannah-Jones of The New York Times, The 1619 Project is known for portraying the United States as an inherently racist nation founded on slavery. It’s made up of a collection of essays that argue, among many other controversial claims, that the real reason for the American Revolution was to preserve slavery and that slavery was the primary driver of U.S. capitalism during the 19th century.
The perceived inequalities have been exacerbated by the “signature of entitlement” in a “socialist society” created today by state-funded social programs, whereby the “government gives you everything you need,” Bozell said.
“The bad news is it gives it to you on its timetable, and should you on your own succeed, you’re taxed to death, and it’s taken back away from you.”
He also said we should reclaim the “era of responsibility” and allow big government to take the backseat.
Rather than rejecting America’s founding principles, Bozell said Americans should look at the United States with “aspiration” from the “standpoint of innocence, goodness, and honor.”

We've been in this cultural war for several decades. We naively believed the American experiment to be able to accommodate varied viewpoints and still remain true to it's judeo-christian underpinnings. We are finding some viewpoints are antithetical to our core beliefs.
