I disagree with leaving any firearm secured/unsecured in a vehicle.
I maintain positive control using a crossdraw holster when driving.
Once I am outside the vehicle I re-position it near my ready hand.

I also won't leave a gun in a vehicle. I will however remove it from my person when driving and position it securely, within easy reach inside the vehicle. Other than my old Pickup, my vehicles have tight bucket seats that hamper the ability to draw. I am proficient with my off hand thus widening the possible in-car locations.

With bucket seats you might look at a shoulder holster
tucked under the opposite armpit from your draw hand.

Nice share brother Rick, we all have slightly different needs and reasons, and this seems to cover most.
