You don't see these old pickup trucks in Edmonton because of the salt on the road but I've seen quite a few of these old Chevy trucks in California.
When I was younger, I used to go to illegal street racing. I remember seeing this beat-up 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle that had oil all over the greasy and dirty engine was the bait because a female was driving it. What looked like a 283 CID/ 4.7 L V8 2 Barrel worn- out engine was probably a stroker professionally built small block engine putting out over 400 cubic inches and 600 horsepower or more using nitrous. Just like this pickup truck, it's looked like a piece of junk. Only a few (like me) knew it had nitrous oxide under the hood and she would beat unsuspecting people who wanted to race her for money.
This old pickup truck reminds me of that kind of vehicle. In the USA, we call a stealth vehicle like this 'a sleeper'.
