There’s a wealth of knowledge wrapped up in the ancient manuscripts. We know little in the Western World about the African cultures and are poorer as a result. The Ethiopian culture in particular was very advanced at the time. There’s a group of people in the northeast corner of South Africa who call themselves the Lumba and have no written history, yet pass their knowledge by word of mouth brown is though the generations. Their oral history is very specific about their origin and how they came to settle in that region. Their religious practices are identical to those of the nation of Israel. Their oral history tells of the group’s migration south along the eastern shore of the Red Sea, having originated in the southern Sinai. The group is so specific about their origin that the committee of elders in Israel visited them and investigated their claims, and have accepted them as one of the twelve tribes of Israel that had been lost during the Diaspora.

1LT Voyle Smith That is very interesting. Did not know of the Lumba. So much of African history has always been tribal oral tradition shamans memorize. It probably still is. I always hope that oral traditions, worldwide, will be recorded in writing before details slowly disappear over time.
Adam's Calendar in SA is intriguing. I have happened upon longer videos that speculate much more about origins connecting it to known history. Maybe I will eventually find a bookmark of it. This one is 10 minutes.

Stumbled into this on YouTube a couple of weeks ago. Could have been another dry lecture with endless slides. It was, but fascinating start to finish nonetheless.
