Safety standards are quite a bit different today. Live and learn.

In the 50's I got a steam engine. It was fueled by canned sterno fuel. You couldnt get away with it in todays nanny society. I also had an erector set with a 120 volt electric motor. If you got your finger caught in the winch string, you had better unplug it fast. It had no off and on switch. Those were the good old days when we didn't have the nanny government breathing down our necks.

Still got a American Flyer train set. It had some kinda pellets to put down its steam engine to make smoke. American Flyer had 2 rail tracks. Lionell had 3 rail tracks. 2 rail tracks are what railroads use. More authentic.

SPC Joseph Kopac - Yes, and I still have My American Flyer trains and they still work fine. I remember those pellets to make smoke for the steam engine.
