New weapons: large amounts of migrants and a needed fuel
(11/2021) Backstory: The EU and NATO believe the Belarusian regime, headed by long-standing president Alexander Lukashenko, is purposely manufacturing the migrant crisis in response to sanctions that were imposed on Belarus earlier this year.
The Belarusian government is accused of flying migrants (multiple thousands) into Minsk from the Middle East and marching them to the border. Supposedly another 15,000 migrants are in the Belarusian capital waiting to be moved on to the border region.
Last Wednesday it was announced that the EU was close to agreeing on a new set of sanctions to be imposed on Belarus targeting their influential individuals and the country’s national airline.
Bottom line: A toothless threat is worthless: It might come down to who controls a large amount of a needed fossil fuel to the EU community and who can choose to cut off this fuel. [RUSSIA]
