Young man got in over his head without the maturity to deal with the aggression. If they did grab the weapon he had all rights to defend himself. Two wrongs don't make a right though. Peace and solace to all those affected.

He shouldn’t have been there I will absolutely agree. But his action while there did nothing to provoke that attack which started this tragedy.

Maj Kevin "Mac" McLaughlin I agree. A 17yr old may think he is man enough but older men know perception is many sided. I hope he gains a lot of wisdom.

SGT Charles Whited I agree. He seems like a kid that want to do good and even probably hope for a little fame too. Much like I would argue many kids who join the military and Police hope for. Fame is overrated and I think he’s learning that lesson the hard way. I wish him luck once he’s acquitted (because I believe he will be) and that he does not give up on his desire to serve.

There was only one wrong committed; when thugs threatened Rittenhouse' safety.

I spoke out of line without knowing anything about the trial and spoke without compassion for the kid's feelings. I was being a jerk.

PFC David Foster - Why does anyone need a "good reason" to be anywhere of one's choosing, or to be carrying a firearm? You do realize that this is America?
In reality, he had a very good reason for being there. He was guarding his family's business from subhuman thugs.

I spoke out of line... I had no idea what was going on in the trial, I had not been watching at all.

Out of curiosity what does that actually matter when it comes to guilty or innocent. Hell if he was rich they would have hired a specialist who read the jury candidates and tell the defense which ones to kick out. So he cried, they put him on trial for murder/manslaughter for what seems up to this point was he was defending himself. I will wait and see what else comes from this trial but I will say this prosecutor really helped the defense, just about every witness the prosecution called testimony actually helped the kid.

Thank you for retracting your statement. I appreciate it truly. I personally do everything I can to get the facts before I definitively condemn someone because we are took quick to judge before gathering facts. This is why there is more divisiveness in this country now, than I've seen in my adult life.
