You can't fault Americans for having healthy imaginations... you can fault us for lying, but I doubt it will help lol....

Lying nnd stretching the truth seem to be a bigger problem in current times than in the past although that doesn't mean its new either just more widespread. Some people however will beleve anything they are told, ee on the media or on acted out film. (Which may even include items they try to pass off as news when it actually often isn't even accurate)

Recently read a military.com article that said the greatest loss in American today is 'The Truth" because both side cannot have the truth. Truth has become subjective to the current situation in your life. Unfortunately these words of our 34th POTUS fall deaf today:

"The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is possible, no matter whether it is on a section gang, a football field, in an army, or in an office."
— Dwight D. Eisenhower

The movie's protagonist, Frank Dux, is one of the most egregious examples.
1. Dux's military service was stateside with USMCR. He did not deploy overseas, did not receive any high-level medals, but received a psychiatrist's evaluation over delusion ideas
2. Dux's martial arts teacher, Tiger Tanaka, is the same name as the Japanese intelligence character from the 007 story, "You Only Live Twice"
3. No written records exist to corroborate Dux's alleged martial arts tournament records
