Do they want people unarmed so the elected officials can have their way with female employees and not risk getting hurt?

I'm not one who normally advocates for unlimited freedom in the possession and carrying of firearms, but in this case, it appears that the state of New York has gone over the edge in attempting to take away 2nd Amendment rights. The severity of the law, coupled with the unreasonable assumptions (such as a weapon found in a vehicle, but not in a person's possession is considered to be in possession of all occupants of the vehicle) make it impossible to agree with the premise of the law. In this particular case, it's time to strike down the law.
