Mind the Gap: How China’s Civilian Shipping Could Enable a Taiwan Invasion - War on the Rocks

This morning I was watching Fox News business Futures and retired General Jack Keane was discussing the possibility that China may be more serious in invading Taiwan after we cut and ran from Afghanistan.
President Xi tends to do what he says. President XI says that he will not leave this for the next Chinese President to deal with. He is saying the Taiwan problem is going to be handled on his watch.
We are now leading from the rear and our near peer adversaries are not sitting on their hands while we ignore the Border crisis to the South and while we cut our own throats economically with proposed new legislation that will go against the economic prosperity put forth by lowering taxes with presidents JFK, Reagan, Clinton in his second term and lately with President Trump.
Here is an article that may give more credence to this long-term theat. I know that China has been discussing this since 1950 but our president and his government are in full retreat. Sure they can have meetings with the heads of state of Australia, India and Taiwan but that doesn't mean that President Biden will actually commit US forces. He has proven how weak he is from his mishandling of Afghanistan. He is a weak president that may be weaker than President Carter and President Ford. His policies of extreme incompetence are not bringing Americans together and it's making the world fall apart and sufder right in front of our eyes.
His administration is to focus on climate change and passing his pork barrel spending packages for the lazy constituents instead of preparing for war when we have a bad peace.
Even though I borrowed this phrase: when in peace, prepare for war, it was on my cover sheet from my CGSOC ILE binder.

The Chinese have been planning this for a long time. I remember reading the officer magazine back in 1998 about The Reawakening of the Sleeping Giant and China going from a defensive to an offensive Navy.

LTC (Join to see) - True, the Chinese don't do anything by accident, there is always a long range plan on jut how to reach any goal they have. They are patient and do things step by step and increase the chances of success by being ready with the assets they need before they move.

LTC (Join to see) - "Roll off" capability requires a special kind of dock, you can not do it at a beach. They would have to seise an intact port, that is damned hard to do since they would have to sieze the port intact then protect it from Naval, Artillery and air attacks.

Isn't that the truth of what needs doing!
Not doing this is the crux of so many problems! People MUST learn to be able to identify a "bad peace" - that it exists, how it developed, and what to do about it (besides prepare for war, in case nothing that needs to be accomplished is accomplished).

It is truly unbelievable how big ships are getting... You really can't get a feel for it until you are in the water in a small boat riding down the side of it... A good place to see some of these international shipping ships is Mobile Bay... I'm sure they are everywhere, that's just where I saw them.

I was involved with a big exercise called Big Lots big little six over the sea. I saw pictures but I wasn't present on one of the army contracted roll-on roll-off ships. These ships can carry dozens if not hundreds of large vehicles and get them to other parts of the world at twenty knots Plus.
