I like to think that I followed Ben's guidance by writing the history of armor's roots and studies on the African-American experience in WWII.

I expect that your generosity of your time, talents and resources is worthy of emulation to those who look to you for leadership, advice and friendship. I would not be surprised to learn that your legacy is being established firmly in the minds of many familiar with you. I hope that you and I continue to share what we have learned with family, friends, and neighbors. 'Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.' [Romans 12:10-13 ESV] my brother-in-Christ SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.

I pray for discernment, understanding the specific purposes YOU know we need to work to fill, sufficient fruit of the Spirit kindness, faithfulness, and self-control for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who read this prayer or listen to it, dear LORD. Enable us to quickly learn what we need to learn for ourselves and those who rely on us. Empower us to share what we have learned to bless other individuals. ‘Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.’ [Romans 5:3-5 ESV]
I pray that YOU are seeding YOUR Word in the fertilized soul of those we are earnestly interceding for salvation. I thank YOU for guiding people to share faith by demonstration of faith and love to those we are earnestly praying for. We are grateful for YOUR imputing the righteousness of the Christ to our account, dear LORD. ‘Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. … As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience. [Luke 8:11,15]
I pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I pray for eternal salvation for many of the descendants of Abraham especially Jews and Muslims in the USA as well as Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran. ‘Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you! Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!” For my brothers and companions’ sake I will say, “Peace be within you!” For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good.’ [Psalm 122:6-9 ESV]
I pray that you and those you love are healthy and that you each sleep well Sunday night and will awake refreshed Monday morning.

Good morning Rally Point. Today's topic is one that I've given more and more thought to...what will my legacy be? How will I be remembered and for what? Facing our own mortality is not easy but it is something we should all give some thought to before it is too late to do anything about it. I hope that I will be remembered as someone who cared and gave support to those who needed it, especially my brothers and sisters in uniform so that's where I put my efforts.
Have you thought about what your legacy will be?

I think about my legacy every day and try to ensure it’s a positive influence on those who mean so much to me. I ask that my family and friends remember me fondly and bear me no ill will for my mistakes and thoughtlessness.
